    Hello there,
    Thank you for your report.

We are aware of issues with players getting this error code W:8:00002EE2 and are currently investigating this issue.

Since you were able to play right after the update, this usually points to either:
    A transient service issue, or
Your local network / firewall now blocking the updated client.

    Try this, in order:
    Check server status
Visit the Marathon Server and Update Status page from the Help site homepage and make sure services aren’t in a maintenance or degraded state.
Full restart of game, platform, and network

Fully close Marathon and your launcher/console.
Power-cycle your router/modem (unplug ~30 seconds, plug back in).
Reboot your PC/console and try again.
    PC-specific (Steam) checks

Make sure Steam is online, not in Offline Mode.
Verify files: Steam → Library → right-click Marathon → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity.
    Check firewall/antivirus:
Allow marathon.exe and BattlEye through your firewall.
If you recently installed/updated security software, temporarily disable it and retest.
    Console-specific checks

Test another online game to confirm your console’s connection works.
Sign out and back into PSN/Xbox Live.
Do a “clear cache” restart (full power off, wait 30 seconds, power on).
