Bug and QoL List: Audio, Recon Spider, Mantling, Compare Window, and Cooldown Issues

I wanted to put together a list of issues and quality-of-life requests I have noticed while playing Marathon.

Bugs / Technical Issues

  1. Triage drone can sometimes play a duplicate deployment sound.
There are cases where the drone deployment audio seems to play twice.
  2. Recon seeker spider feels very inconsistent.
Sometimes it lands very close to an enemy and still runs away from them or fails to behave as expected.
  3. Enemy footsteps or interaction sounds are sometimes not audible.
There are situations where enemy movement or interaction audio seems missing or too inconsistent to rely on.
  4. Mantling and ledge grabbing feel inconsistent.
One especially frustrating issue is that if I turn too early while pulling myself up, I can fall back down. In general, grabbing and holding onto ledges does not always feel reliable.
  5. There seem to be cooldown bugs with certain cores / abilities.
Some cooldown interactions do not seem to behave correctly and may be bugged.

Quality-of-Life Requests
6. Please add a proper comparison window for equipment and items.
Being able to compare currently equipped gear with newly found or stored gear would make loadout decisions much easier.

  1. Please add a way to request ammo or healing from teammates.
A simple ping or request system for ammo and healing would make team play much smoother.

Several of these points also seem to come up in community discussions, especially the inconsistency of Recon’s spider, the need for a proper comparison feature, and broader audio readability concerns

    Hi there,
Thank you for your multiple reports.
If you are able to record a video, you can upload it to a site like Youtube, link it to us here, and we'll be glad to take a closer look.

We appreciate your feedback! That said, the best place to share it is on the official Marathon Discord rather than our Help Forums. To that point, we suggest posting your thoughts there, if you haven't already done so. You can find the specific feedback channels below:
