endless OS hack loop bug

Ran into a laser in cryo. No big deal, until it was.The OS hack effect would endlessly loop and every time it was done looping it would reset the ability regen pause, resetting the visual effect and they piggy backed off of each other endlessly until I exfilled. No amount of advanced OS debug would fix it (I used FOUR of them).

    • The approximate date you experience this incident upon.
    • The platform you play Marathon on.
    • Does encountering the laser you describe reproduce this? Or does this seem to happen regardless of level or circumstances with this effect?
    • A linked videoclip demonstrating what you describe experiencing.

    Once we have the above details, we will investigate this issue further on our end.

    I had the same issue. I was unable to get a video as multiple teams were nearby but here is what happened

    After (I believe) running into a laser, I was hacked, and anywhere from 3 seconds to immediately after the hack ended, the hack debuff reapplied itself along with the resulting ability regen pause. the debuff would contently do this but oddly, sometimes it would not reapply itself for a 10-30ish second window, typically when i was not moving. We think it may be that my client thought all lasers were on as the places we were typically had a lot of potential laser spawns, but it also occurred in the vents as well.

     

    as an additional note, i used 6 OS debugs to try and clear the effect (with various timings in the cycle) and while they cleared the debuff, it was reapplied as if nothing happened next time in the cycle

     

    The room where I believe I encountered the initial laser was near the central room and had both a door and vent pathway to there. I do apologize for the vagueness, there were multiple teams nearby and i am not familiar with the cryo map 

     

    the approx time i had this happen at was 19:00-19:10 EST 3/27/2026 on Steam.

    just had this same bug happen to me and my squad in middle of a fight and no matter what we did it just wouldnt end. we ended up killing the team that we were fighting and then got 3rd partied and the rest is history. after rewatching the clip of it happening we were on the stairs leaving cargo and i got hit with a chem grenade and tripped the laser at the same time, unsure if thats the reason but it could be.also i believe it happen at 11:48 EST on april 4th on steam. marathon ID is Teiro#6955 
     we lost some pretty decent stuff, if theres anyway we could get it returned wed be very grateful
