Game Suddenly Crashing

Last night mid 1v1 knife fight with a Vandal game crashed. Ever since, upon loading into the game lobby, screen just goes black and after about 2-5 minutes of waiting the game crashes. No error report, no error code just back to the desktop. Never had a problem running the game up to this point after nearly 60 hours of playtime. I have done a clean reinstall of drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, checked audio settings but am unable to identify the problem.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for reaching out.

We understand you're experiencing persistent crashing, even after a reinstallation of Marathon. We can imagine how this may have caused concern. For our investigation, could you kindly let us know the OS version and GPU of your PC? We'll then review, and see what else we can suggest or what further details might help our investigation.

  • OS: Windows 10 64bit
    GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070

As mentioned, game ran fine for 55+ hours of play then suddenly crashed and now going to black screen once I get past the Sony & Bungie intro cinematic.

  • Hi again,

    Thanks for your prompt response.

We have taken note of the OS and GPU involved. For further investigation, a DxDiag would be of great help.

When possible, please reply with a DxDiag. The following outlines how you should be able to share this:

    1. Restart your machine.
    2. When you log in, please click on the Windows icon, then type dxdiag. If typed correctly, only one command should appear. Please click it. (If you need to enter the credentials of an administrator of the PC, please do so).
    3. Allow the tool to run. A green bar should progress on the bottom portion of the window. If you receive any dialogue boxes as it progresses, please address them accordingly.
    4. Once the tool is completed, please click on the "Save All Information" button. Save the resulting text file in an easy to find location, such as your Desktop. Then, close the tool.
    5. Open the text file you just created and copy all of text to your clipboard by selecting all of it (Ctrl+A) and copying it (Ctrl+C OR right-click and click Copy). Then, close the file.
    6. Go to pastebin.com
    7. In the text box below, paste all of the text in the box.
    8. If you would like to make your system specs hidden, you can change the Paste Exposure to Unlisted. This will hide it from the Public section of the site but still allow people to view your Paste. Then, click the Create New Paste button.
    9. Copy the resulting URL and reply back with the pasted URL.
