Game crashes during startup

For formality:

  • Bungie Account Name - (absent, steam account) Al.Mass,
  • Platform - Steam
  • Rough Date and Time of issue - ~21:30 CET
  • Repro steps and description - read below

Game crashed during extraction and doesn't want to start at all since.

Platform: PC, Steam.

I played several games with teammate, during one of the extraction game crashed. Attempts to restart game lead to crash during loading screen.

Game successfully goes through cinematic, request for LMB, loadings with dynamic pictures in the bottom right, center and the bottom right of the screen again, then screen goes to full-black and games crashes. 

I tried treating issue by: checking files integrity, re-installing game, removeing BattleEye files from the game directory in Steam/...; removing BattleEye files from Local/.../BattleEye/marathon; defaulting game settings by deleting files from Roaming/Bungie/... directory - nothing seems to help.

NVidia driver is updated.

Please tell me some advise to fix it or just fix it please =) Considering absence of errors, logs and that game stopped working during extraction maybe problem somewhere on your backend side and my character is somehow stuck somewhere?

    We have identified a rise in crash reports since the latest update and are currently looking into the underlying cause of this. Thank you for your patience and support while we work on this!

    Please also note that Marathon may not be able to run on laptops, if that is your case.

  • Issue disappeared. Don't know if it was some autoresolve by the game or someone from Support fix it (if so, thanks), but today I managed to load into the main menu, got Exfil window from last run, crashed two more times (lol) and then was able to finish one 7 minutes run on Rook for testing purposes.

I just wanted to let you know that we are still working on improvements benefiting high-spec PCs in the long term, so performance is still being adjusted. We want to be transparent that this will take some time and won't come all "at once" in a single season.
