Can I use ExitLag or a VPN? My region has low population and I can't find any matches

Hi, I love the game, but I am from South America and here we are having to wait 10/20 minutes on matchmaking, and sometimes still can't find a single match, there are a lot of discord and reddit topics about this, peolpe for Brasil, Australia, Asia...

Since we don't have server selection inside the game, Can i use ExitLag or a VPN to find matches in North America? I can't play the game which I paid for... Just looking for some answer about this
