Low GPU Usage (~20%) + <60 FPS on RTX 3070 Ti Laptop (i7-12700H)
Reporting a consistent performance issue.
Specs:
- i7-12700H
- RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU
- 16 GB RAM
- 1440p display
Issue:
- FPS stays around 40–60
- GPU usage ~20%
- Lowering all settings (including DLSS Ultra Performance) has minimal/zero impact on FPS
This indicates the game is not properly utilizing the GPU and appears CPU-bound or poorly optimized.
This system runs other demanding games without issue so this is genuinely puzzling. I want to just enjoy the game when I have time but it is impossible.
Troubleshooting already done:
- Forced NVIDIA GPU
- Updated drivers
- Closed background processes
- Used max performance power settings
No meaningful improvement.
Request:
Please investigate low GPU utilization and poor performance scaling, particularly on laptop CPUs (12th gen Intel). This does not appear to be a hardware limitation.
