CryoArchive Exfils do not show on map

I played a couple rounds of CryoArchive with 2 of my friends and in the last round we played, we had killed every squad but one at around 21 minutes remaining. After that we went into a skirmish with the last remaining team and after waiting out and looting for another 13 minutes we noticed that still no Exfils, or sites to call the exfil had spawned so far. We were a couple stamps off of security level 4 so that was not the issue. we spend the last 10min of the round running around to exfil sites we remembered from the previous rounds but they were all inactive, at 1 minute remaining it showed on screen that the final exit had spawned but it still would not show on our maps. we just died because we failed to extract, because it was impossible to find one.

Must have been a bug right?
Am i missing something about the exfil mechanic?

we had security level 3 and they shouldve been visible to us on our maps. we lost a combined 60k of inventory value, including unique weapon attachments.
