Hello there,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
We understand you are experiencing constant crashing in Marathon. We're sorry to hear of this, as we can imagine the impact of such an issue. So that we can effectively investigate, please let us know the OS and GPU of the PC you play the game on. We'll then see what we may hopefully be able to suggest.
Windows 11 Pro.
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285k
GPU: RTX 5080
The same here. In past 4 hours my game crashed 7-8 times.
Windows 11 Pro
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 7 265K
GPU: RTX 5090
Yeah it's awful, unable to play currently, have had to put down the game, already took a break because of work things just annoyed I now can't play.
Game keeps crashing for me as well. Today got 2 crashes in one match
CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
GPU: NV 5070Ti
RAM: 32GB 6000MHz (XMP profile)
It really does feel like it's targeted at Intel CPUs at this point, everyone online seems to have an Intel CPU as well that seems to have a crash...
Hello.
The fix I came up with: Updating your BIOS (from mobo manufacturers website via flash drive) and Intel Management Engine (also from mobo manufacturers website and NOT from intel website)
After that I suggest also: Go to the location where your game is installed, for me its C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Marathon\battleye
Right click on Uninstall_BattlEye -> Run as Administrator -> uninstall it
Then Right click on Install_BattlEye -> Run as Administrator -> install it
You can also just delete the insides of this folder and game/steam will redownload it back.
Also make sure are your firmware is updated. Fully. Every possible driver.
If that doesnt work then I am out of ideas and this probably needs official fix.
Tommy.
Commenting to keep this post at the top. I also have an ultra intel core and cannot play the game due to constant crashes. Updating BIOS did not solve the issue.
In the same boat, intel i9 ultra - seems like we are falling off on traction so please Bungie help us play your game.
I have realised that all it takes is for a Bungie support person to respond, then it says against the thread "bungie answered" even though they haven't responded for hours since.
i have had the same issue since yesterday. same CPU and GPU aus Deathly Nocturnal.
as of today, i cant even get past the sony intro, which plays at 0,3 fps for some reason.
this is to blame on bungie for sure but i will not buy intel cpu again ^^
So I did do a bios update (and Intel ME update), and don't get me wrong, it did work, I was able to play a round (about 9/10 mins - quick in/out) without crashing, before I would of crashed like 3/4 times.
BUT, that shouldn't be the fix, the game was fine before, and people shouldn't be, IMO be pushed to upgrade their bios.
Trennjäger for help, it's nothing to do with Intel directly, from my understanding, the anti-cheat (or bungie) are using a specific feature of the CPU which I have a feeling relates directly to the new BIOS update, because I have seen people saying a BIOS update on its own doesn't fix it, you have to update the Intel ME stuff as well which I assume has either a new feature, or fixed a feature that may not have worked originally before (not sure).
So my assumption so far is that:
Bungie/Anti-cheat provider are using a feature that isn't available across the board causing all Intel CPUs to fail to load it because it's a new feature (or a feature that didn't work originally) that most Intel CPUs didn't have, unless you got your PC recently, and it was already installed.
I could be wrong, but that is just my guess based on everything I have read and the things I have done.
I haven't got a crash yet, but that doesn't mean it won't happen again, I think whatever Bungie did should revert that change and try and find out why it failed, a few people suggested it was an anti-cheat failure, but who knows.
thanks for the answer, im no pc guy and i dont want to mess my system up so ill have to wait for bungie. i tried reinstalling battleeye aswell.
