    Hello there,
    Thank you for reaching out.

    A few things to try:
Full restart & basic network check
Quit Marathon and exit Steam completely.
    Reboot your PC and router.
Make sure you’re not on a VPN or corporate network if you can avoid it.
Antivirus / security software (common cause)

If you use Kaspersky or similar AV, either:
    Temporarily disable it fully, or
Add exceptions for Marathon.exe and BattlEye.
Players with W:8:80090305-type errors have fixed it just by turning Kaspersky off or whitelisting the game.
    Windows Firewall / SSL filtering

In Windows Security → Firewall → “Allow an app…”
Make sure Marathon and BattlEye are allowed on Private and Public networks.
If you use any “web protection” or HTTPS inspection feature (in AV, a VPN, or a corporate agent), turn that off and test again.
Verify files & run as admin

In Steam: Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity.
Then run Steam as Administrator and launch Marathon.
    Try a different network

If possible, tether your PC to a mobile hotspot and try logging in once.
If it works there but not on your home connection, the problem is your ISP/router/firewall blocking the sign-on URL.
