Using Controller on PC causes Open Mic in menus regardless of options selected.

I use a controller on PC because mouse and keyboard causes me pain to use for gaming. Regardless of input method, my mic is set to Open in menus when my controller is being used. If I turn off Crew chat, it also disables prox comms in game, so much so that using the push-to-talk input opens the mic but does not broadcast in prox comms

    Hello there,
    Thank you for reaching out.

    Yes – what you’re seeing is effectively a known limitation, not an untracked bug.

    Right now:

    • Gamepads/consoles only support Crew Push-to-Talk while you’re in a run. In the lobby/menus, crew voice stays Open Mic when using a controller, even if you pick a PTT-style option.
       
    • On PC with a controller, you’re hitting that same behavior: the game treats “gamepad + lobby” as open mic for crew chat.

    Work-arounds for now:

    • Use keyboard/mouse if you want true PTT in menus, or
    • Temporarily mute yourself / disable voice chat in Social → Voice Chat when you don’t want open mic.

    If you’d like this changed (true PTT on controller everywhere), that feedback is valuable and worth posting in the Marathon Discord as a quality-of-life request.
