Can't Move 20 Feet Without Crashing (Steam)

Since this update went live, I literally cannot play. Load into a match and can barely move before it freezes and the game hard crashes. Reinstalled, Verified Files, Updated Drivers, rebooted computer. Crash Crash Crash.

  • Hello there,

Thank you very much for reaching out to us. I'm sorry to hear that you are having stability issues since the latest patch. We've received reports of this issue and are investigating it further.

  • I was in the menus for over an hour looking at the guns and reading all the perks but 20-30 seconds into a match I will hang for around 2 seconds and crash to desktop with no error messages. Originally after the second patch and before this one, I would crash occasionally after hitting Run to enter a match. Now after this patch I enter matches fine and then crash in the match itself.

  • Hello again everyone,

The fix I came up with yesterday was:
Updating your BIOS (dont do any tuning apart xmp/expo) and Intel Management Engine.
    After that I suggest also:
Go to the location where your game is installed, for me its C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Marathon\battleye
Right click on Uninstall_BattlEye -> Run as Administrator -> uninstall it
    Then
Right click on Install_BattlEye -> Run as Administrator -> install it

You can also just delete the insides of this folder and game/steam will redownload it back.

If that doesnt work then I am out of ideas and this probably needs official fix.

  • So I did some updates to the firmware updates and it seems to have fixed it? I was able to do a 3-3.5 minute Rook run w/o problems. I'll test it more after I get out of work

  • Was it mobo firmware? CPU firmware?
