Cannot Open Chat Box At All

Description of Issue - The chat box does not open when I press "Enter". The keybind has not changed. It has worked up until a day or two ago. Whenever I press "Enter", nothing happens.

An issue I had leading up to the chat box not opening was the chat box staying "open" but hidden so whenever I would open the chat box again it would have any other key presses I had entered between chats. It would have something like "wwwwaaadddaswwwasssavwwai" in the box even though the chat box wasn't open but it wasn't affecting my gameplay, where some games that have a chat box that's open prevents your character from moving until you close it when using mouse and keyboard, I could still play normally.

Now, however, I cannot get the chat box to open at all. I've tried changing keybinds, verifying game files, pretty much very simple potential fixes that I've done before in other games.

Rough Date and Time of issue - 3/12/2026 around 7:30PM CT is when I noticed the chat box didn't work at all. A day or two leading up to that is when I started having the error with the hidden chat box that was still typing in my inputs.

Repro steps - I cannot recreate it as I don't know what caused the issue originally. I was using the chat to communicate when I first started playing and it began having the issues listed above, if I recall correctly, after the first patch that included the audio change. My game has crashed before, but never in-game. The crashes I have had are always during the loading sequence, either prior to or directly after the screen that shows your, and your teammates, contracts. Usually the former, where the game will just close with no error messages during the loading sequence that leads up to showing everyones' contracts. It hasn't happened in a while though, with it not crashing at all yesterday for about 3 hours of gameplay.
