interacting on load-in causes game to crash (PC)

Experienced it now for 3+ times, so rather consistent. After squad loads onto the map, but is not yet able to move, keyboard interaction (for me it's pressing M for the map) *occasionally* but reasonably consistently causes the game to crash. Sometimes it's immediate, sometimes it freezes first, stutters for a second, then crashes. Reconnection works (kudos for that), but crash is annoying and can lead to gear loss (reconnection from scratch takes a hot minute). Just for the completeness, game integrity verified, drivers etc are all up to date etc. Can attache dxdiag if you need to, but this doesn't seem to be a system-induced instability, as it is always triggered by the keyboard shortcut interaction during the brief immobility interval on load-in.
