Stingray error

Hello Bungie!

I can't play the game I paid for because of constant Stingray error in a moment of logging in.

My Game Pass is active
My Xbox Live account is working correctly
My licenses are valid
The Microsoft Store recognizes that I own Marathon
My console is set as Home Xbox

Despite all of this, the STINGRAY error still appears.
Sometimes I can login to the game when my private VPN enabled, and full power cycle is required for xbox, but it is not a solution, and not even close to workaround.

Please do not send me that article https://help.marathonthegame.com/hc/en-us/articles/39003856933780-Error-Code-STINGRAY as "resolution"
You did that in next topics, and it is not helping at all:

Here some troubleshooting steps were provided, I checked it all and there is no issues from my side.

Can anyone from Bungie give us an answer when it will be resolved or share inputs how to apply for refund?

  • Guys, I found a solution for myself on Xbox Series X. I tried all the options suggested by support, but none of them helped.
Before I describe the steps, keep in mind that I’m located in the CIS, so I’m not sure how well this will work for others.
    Here’s what I did:
I registered on bungie.com using my Xbox account.
Then I changed the network settings on my Xbox Series X, specifically the DNS:
    Primary — 31.192.108.180
    Secondary — 176.99.11.77
Restarted the console — and everything works.

  • Here are the steps I took in attempt to troubleshoot that issue on my console:
    - Changed ISP from broadband to mobile for the Xbox - did not helped
    - Deleted local data belongs to the game on my console - did not helped
    - Sign out from account, reboot console, login back - did not helped
    - Sign out from account, soft reset the Xbox, login back - did not helped
    - Hard reset the Xbox, cleared all data on the console - did not helped
    - Bought a new console and it did not helped
    - Private VPN on my router for xbox connection -  sometimes it works, sometimes not
    - Changed the DNS from Google\Cloudflare to some unknown set of IP addresses helped, thanks to Rikinoda, but for how long that workaround will be available nobody knows.

To me, this Stingray error on Xbox looks like a shadowban based on Bungie's internal logic and has nothing to do with Xbox Live services, your subscription, your console, or your ISP.

  • Tried it on my Series S, nothing.

  • Try a combination of the following: change your Xbox region (not your Microsoft account, but the console itself) to the US and alter your DNS addresses.

  • So, it's been a week since I started this thread, and there's still no answer to the problem many people, including myself, have encountered.
    Simply lovely.

  • I tried everything above and nothing works for me. Spent several hours with Microsoft support doing a bunch of useless sht and nothing work. I systematically got the Stingray error. It's been like 2 weeks, it is so not acceptable...
No help from Bungie at all, not even communication with us.
