PC Social Voice Chat Output setting default is incorrect.
In Settings -> Social -> "Video Chat Output" Marathon chooses your System Communications Default on PC while all the other sound goes to your "System Default". No other game does this because "System Communications Default" is an optional setting which can be arbitrarily assigned by the OS.
This is doubly a problem because there is no way to know the setting is misconfigured since the regular audio will go to your "System Default" and you will hear all game sounds normally. These two settings should either choose "System Communication Default" or "Systems Default" for both and never two different devices.

Marathon likely has thousands of PC players who have no idea why no one is using the microphone because it's impossible to tell its misconfigured without knowing ahead of time that this setting exists.
I have been having this issue whenever I try to use my headset and can not for the life of me get it working. I can hear the game and it picks up my mic but I can not hear in game chat at all. I have tried both in game settings set to default and setting them directly to my headset.
