Map UI issues

Map not always responsive to show up when bound key is pressed. Noticed that I have to completely stop moving before I can open the map to look at it (feel that I should be able to open close my map without interrupting my movement). Sometimes after opening my map I am unable to move for a few moments.

    Hi!

    Thanks for reporting this. Would you be able to reproduce the issue with your map not opening correctly through your bound key, and capture a video of it so I can take a closer look? Please upload your video to a public hosting platform like YouTube or Imgur.

    I have an issue where if I open the map while loading into the run or before the on screen particle effect is finished playing, the map will get stuck on screen, any input to clear the map will work but will then also perform that action again. Pressing M again will close the map then 1 second later it will reopen, pressing ESC will close the menu but 1 second later will pause, then the pause menu becomes looping. Additionally cursor becomes super laggy (I made a similar post with this issue but in the lobby).
    Example to recreate: As soon as you load into a run and while the red glitch/pixel effect is still on screen open your map, It will either force its self to close immediately or get stuck open but either way your inputs will be bugged  until you stop and wait about 20 seconds with out inputting anything

    As of this morning it seems more responsive (as far as opening the map via the key), however I still often find that I have to resume movement inputs once or twice after opening map to get moving again. For instance while holding W i press M and am able to open map (I am still holding W) when I close map by pressing M again I am not moving as expected. I have to let go and press W again. Sometimes I have to tap W twice. I will try and capture video.

    Thanks for the update! Glad to hear your map is more responsive now. I'll still raise this to my team for investigation, as well as your movement stopping when opening the map. Once you're able to get a video recording of this, could you also send me the following details:

    • Your Bungie Account Name.
    • The platform on which you play the game.
    • The approximate date and time upon which you first experienced this.
    • If you are able to reproduce the issue, please list the reproduction steps as well.
