Unable to enter the game due to network connection issues (EC: passionfruit/paprika)

I have gotten two error codes for marathon:
passionfruit, which has occurred the most, and paprika, what has happened once.
Paprika had the additional numeric code W:8:00002EF1
Each time the error codes happen, its immediately once the ETHERSTEP cutscene starts playing. I have not been able to interact with any menus, or get past this point, always getting these two error codes and back to the start screen. Haven't even been able to play the tutorial.

I am in South Afrika, and have attempted both a wired and wi-fi connection, averaging 100 ping, with no luck.
My friends have had no issues getting into the game, while they have 200 ping and above.

If there is any possible fix for this, I would greatly appreciate it.
