Linux Clarification for Marathon
I've looked a bit but haven't seen any official statement, are there any plans to allow Marathon to be played on Linux via Proton. My assumption is that's much like Destiny 2 it won't be allowed due to a decision to not enable BattleEye for Linux. However It would be good to know if I should hold out any hope or not. Should people even bother to attempt to get Proton to work for Marathon. Has there been an official statement other then "Per our System Requirements page, please note that Windows 10 or 11 is required to run Marathon on PC. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." If someone does it get to work on Proton will they be banned?
To reiterate my specific questions.
Are there any plans for Proton compatibility?
If we where to get Proton to launch/play Marathon would we be banned?

This. I'm not willing to reinstall Windows for the one game but I would like to play with friends.
+1, would love to play the game so much but I don't have the patience to go with windows again (even more with the recent updates shenanigans) and I don't want to dual boot and swap os each time I want to do a session :(
Edit: yeah, came back to windows for other stuff, crashed 3 times during one session, 2 of them being while I was trying to screenshot something in fullscreen and the other one while watching a video... Please allow us to play on Linux I beg you
+ another one. Super excited about the game. But switching to windows is not an option. Cmon guys let uncle Gabe & Co do the thing pls.
Same here. Just installed and configured nixos.
And have 0 intent going back on windows.
Bought Marathon and patiently waiting.
Yeah, the only thing keeping me from playing Marathon is not being able to run it on Linux.
Sorry Bungo, no dollarydoos from me until you enable the checkbox in BattleEye.
