Bluetooth speakers do not work with Marathon

I've tried turning off open mic, disabling all voice chat, putting the input and output devices on the correct ones. But the speakers cut out as soon as I launch the game on steam then work again once I've closed it. I can have the sound come through a different source if I switch to it, but not working on these bluetooth speakers.
