LUX - Premium Currency

Our in-game purchasable currency in Marathon is LUX, which can be purchased through a platform’s store in exchange for real-world money.

This currency is shared across all platforms a player’s Marathon account is linked to. For example, if players have 1,000 LUX on Steam, and log into your Marathon account on PlayStation 5, you will have access to the same LUX on the PlayStation 5.

Purchasing LUX
LUX can be purchased through Marathon’s in-game Store by selecting the Store button in the main menu, hovering over the LUX tab or selecting an item, clicking the “Purchase Currency” button, and purchasing the LUX through the platform store. Players can also search for LUX bundles directly through their platform store.
Important to note: We do not sell retail game cards nor platform codes that grant LUX. Players can use platform-exclusive currency (Xbox/PlayStation/Steam) to purchase LUX on a chosen platform.
Using LUX for in-game items
LUX allows players to purchase cosmetic items for their Runner shells, weapons, equipment, or profiles. These include customized shell styles, weapon styles, or weapon charms as well as profile cosmetics like profile backgrounds and emblems. Players can also use LUX to purchase the Premium track of the Reward Pass, to get access to those rewards by playing the game and leveling up.

SILK - Rewards Pass Currency

SILK is an earnable in-game currency gained by increasing your Runner level. Players can progress their Runner level by earning XP from gameplay activities and completing Contracts during runs.

Each Runner level will earn you 10 SILK. SILK can be spent to unlock a range of cosmetics from the Rewards Pass.

IMPORTANT: The Rewards Pass will not expire at the end of a season and future or past Reward Passes can be purchased at any time.

Rewards Pass
The launch of Season 1 brings the first iteration of the Rewards Pass which offers free and Premium tracks. The earnable in-game currency SILK is used exclusively for Rewards Pass progression. When you first launch Marathon, click “Season 1” to bring you to the Rewards Pass screen. You’ll notice there's multiple pages of reward nodes – these can be purchased in any order on that specific page. You’ll need to spend enough SILK on the first page to unlock the next reward page, and so on.
Digital Deluxe and Collector’s Edition owners will receive the Premium Rewards Pass Voucher on launch, including 200 SILK to give you a head start on your collection.
NOTE: The SILK cap is 140 so be sure to spend some before going on Runs as to not waste any future earnings.

Credits - In-Game Currency

This in-game currency is earned from collecting items and loot in Tau Ceti. This is not purchasable with real-world money, and can only be acquired and spent via playing the game.
