Loss of in-game items due to server disconnection

  • Description of Issue - When we (outpost) were preparing to leave (with a little over three minutes left), the connection suddenly dropped, and then the screen in the attachment kept replaying. I chose to continue waiting, but the screen kept replaying, and my friend did the same, but he didn't lose anything.
  • Rough Date and Time of issue - 2026/6/28 23:00 UTC+08:00
  • Repro steps - I don't know what the problem is, the connection suddenly dropped, and I can't reconnect.

    When you disconnected, did you see any error codes or error messages? If so what were they?

    Also, the screenshot you shared is not working.

    Thank you for the screenshot.

    Since this has already happened and you’re no longer on that screen, please fully close and relaunch the game, then sign back in and check whether your run progress and rewards updated correctly.

    We’re not able to restore items or progress lost due to disconnects, lag, or other connection issues. In cases where a qualifying server‑side error happens, any refunds that can be offered are handled automatically by the game systems, not manually through support.

    In the event that an error occurs with Bungie’s server or network infrastructure, connection recovery may not be possible. We will attempt to ensure that any players affected by a server error will have their starting gear returned to them. 

    Note: Gear refund only applies to a subset of server error conditions, and will not cover gameplay losses due to Internet connectivity or client-side problems.  

    If this happens again in the future after a disconnect, waiting on that screen for a few minutes before leaving may help, and if it does not clear, fully closing and relaunching the game is the best next step.
