Marathon Sever Connectivity Error
After attempting to start a game as a single player looking for trios, I received an error about being unable to match with other players. I think was shown an error around not being able to connect to the Marathon servers.
When trying to relaunch I’m able to sign in but then the loading animation appears in the bottom right and there’s an attention banner along the bottom around contacting the marathon servers. Despite hanging here for around a minute, the connection is never established and eventually the red check your connection error screen appears.
I’ve confirmed the Xbox is still connected to the network since I can party chat and go online for other games.

Hello there,
Thank you for reaching out.
The first error, where solo queue into trios could not find a match, can come from normal matchmaking-side failures like no match being found or no servers being available. But once the game starts hanging on the loading icon with a “contacting Marathon servers” style banner and then kicks you to the red connection error screen on every relaunch, that stops looking like a simple queue failure.
We are aware of issues where players can encounter "Contacting Marathon Servers” / attention-style messages when Marathon’s backend messaging path is taking too long, including Presence/BAP-side issues. These bootflow/sign-on errors from normal player-side disconnects and notes that errors in this stage can be caused by Marathon service-side problems, not just the user’s last-mile connection. We are currently looking into these situations.
Looks like I’m back in action now and able to successfully connect. Regardless of whether you knocked something loose, or the queue reset, thanks!
