Thanks for reaching out, and sorry to hear the game isn’t loading properly.
You’ve already verified your files on Steam, which is a great first step. Based on similar reports, some players have been able to get past an infinite loading screen by adjusting their Windows audio settings as follows:
Open Windows Settings > System > Sound > App volume and device preferences.
Make sure Steam is set to use your default output device.
Launch the game.
While the game is running and stuck on the loading screen, go back to App volume and device preferences and set the game’s output to default as well.
Force close the game using Task Manager, then relaunch it and try again.
If that doesn’t help, please also restart your PC and clear Steam’s Download Cache (Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache), then launch the game again and see if it progresses past the loading screen.
If you’re still unable to get past the loading screen after these steps, please provide us your DxDiag, if you ever see any error messages, and whether the game audio continues playing in the background so we can look into this further.

Please try the following next steps:
Fully close Marathon and Steam, then run Steam as administrator and launch Marathon again.
In Steam, go to Library > Marathon > Manage > Browse local files, then right‑click the game’s .exe and choose Run as administrator.
Temporarily disable overlays (Steam, Discord, GeForce, Xbox Game Bar) and any third‑party antivirus/firewall, then restart your PC and try launching Marathon once more.
